A popular play by the German playwright Paul Barz directed by the film and theatre director Raimondas Banionis was shown successfully at the Lithuanian National Theatre for several years. Audiences in three Russian cities – Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tumene – saw this performance. Everywhere it was hailed as a prominent work of three actors our culture may be proud of – Regimantas Adomaitis, Donatas Banionis and Vytautas Tomkus.

Although the performance tells about an invented meeting of great composers J. S. Bach and G. F. Handel, the contemporary playwright Barz is using this plot in order to touch the permanent and urgent in all times themes of art and responsibility of the artist, conflict and choice. Those themes are very important in our present life when ethical criteria have been lost and a human being often cannot find a balance to the cruel and materialist world.

The film company Litnek considered it as important to film this performance on a video tape. Thus the work of three talented actors would be immortalised. The film will be shot in natural environment, one of the palaces of Vilnius and in realistic baroque halls.
