The film tells three different stories: about a youth who has deserted from the compulsory national defence service; a hopelessly lost gambler who is the owner of a funeral company, and about three pick-pockets who make their living by stealing from drivers they ‘hitchhike’. At the end, an accidental event brings together the unrelated characters of the three stories.
