"The Excursionist" by Director Audrius Juzėnas – in the competition program of the Open Film Festival of CIS countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

 Today, in the main competition program of full-length features of the 22nd Open Film Festival of CIS countries, , and in Anapa ( ), new feature film "The Excursionist" by director Audrius Juzėnas is shown. 

The film is based on a true story of eleven-year-old girl from . Having escaped from the train wagon overfilled with deportees that was taking her and her family to Siberia, she covered 6 thousand kilometres – an incredibly long, full of danger and adventures journey back home, to .

A. Juzėnas is known to the viewers as director of full-length feature fiction and documentary films "It Also Snows in Paradise " (1994), "Ghetto" (2005), "Front Line" (1999), "Zero Time Zone" (2012), etc.

In the Short Film Competition Program "Shock Limits", film "Aldona" by Lithuanian filmmaker Emilija Škarnulytė is participating; as well as film "The Restorator", produced this year at the "Summer MEDIA Studio" international workshop for students and young professionals in Juodkrantė (directed by Reinis Spaile, , producer Martynas Mendelis).

At the previous Kinoshock festivals, the prize for the Best Cinematographer of the full-length feature named after A. Knyazhinsky has been awarded to the director Šarūnas Bartas, cinematographers Rimvydas Leipus (“Yard”), Vladas Naudžius (“You Am I”).  Prizes for the Best Director at this festival have been given to Ramūnas Greičius ("White On Blue"), Šarūnas Bartas ("Few of Us"). Special prize of the festival has been given to Oksana Buraja ("Confession"); Marius Ivaškevičius has been awarded prize in the competition "Shock Limits" ("Our Father"). 

In 2007, the Festival Grand Prix went to Algimantas Puipa film "Whisper of Sin", in 2010 - to "Eastern Drift" by Šarūnas Bartas. In 2012, the Prize for the Best Actress was awarded to Janina Lapinskaitė for the role of Monika in the film "Fortress of Sleeping Butterflies" by A. Puipa.
