European Film Forum Scanorama, which each year devotes much attention to Lithuanian documentary films, this year presents another premiere to the audience – the latest film by Giedre Žickytė, documentary "Master and Tatyana". Its gala premiere at Scanorama will take place on 15 November, in Forum Cinemas Vingis theatre.

In the film "Master and Tatyana" audience will get acquainted with one of the most interesting and most talented Lithuanian photographers of the last century – Vitas Luckus. The tragically fated photographer became the first to break the romantic tradition of Lithuanian photography school. Always with his camera, V. Luckus travelled all over the Soviet Union, and his life was full of sleepless nights devoted to work, and also parties lasting until dawn.

The rebellious creator not only worked a lot, but also experienced deep love. In his bohemian home, his beautiful wife Tatyana was always awaiting him. Title of Žickytė's film reveals that the audience will get acquainted not only with V. Luckus creative work, but also with the love story of Vitas and Tatyana.

Seeking to uncover the fullest portrait of the photographer, G. Žickytė in the film talks to people who were V. Luckus' friends, colleagues and even enemies, but the most significant witness of his personality became namely Tatyana Luckienė-Aldag, Luckus' widow, currently living in the United States.

"Having another family in America, Tatyana did not seek attention and for a long time did not tell anyone about their dramatic, passionate life with Luckus. Therefore, I am very happy that she, having received my request to tell about Vitas, agreed to plunge into memories with me", – said G. Žickytė. Tatiana Luckienė-Aldag will visit Scanorama and attend the film premiere on 15 November.

G. Žickytė is no newcomer to Scanorama. In 2011, her debut full-length documentary film "How We Played the Revolution" was presented at the festival. After the premiere at Scanorama, that film has travelled through more than 20 international festivals.
