Lithuanian short film "Bridges" orbits around the world

Award-winning Lithuanian short film "Bridges" by Austėja Urbaitė continues travelling around the international film festivals. The film "Bridges" has participated in various competitions and festivals in Lithuania, it has already been presented to our audience, and it can be seen in international festivals.

Now the film is shown in the Latvian capital Riga, in the Baltic Short Film competition program of the International Film Festival 2ANNAS. Then it will move to Germany, to the Nordic Film Days Lübeck Film Festival to be held in Lübeck, where the Lithuanian film can be seen on 2 - 6 November, in the short film competition program. Immediately after that, by the end of November, "Bridges" will be shown in China, in China International New Media Short Film Festival and it will compete for the main prize and for the recognition in the "One Belt and One Road "competition program.

The film "Bridges" produced by Lina Murinaitė (production company Tremora) not only received the award for the best 2015 film by Lithuanian filmmakers in the program "New Baltic Cinema" of the European Film Forum Scanorama, but it was also recognized there as the best film of the Baltic countries. Also, "Bridges" became the winner of Lithuanian film award "Silver Crane" in the Best Live Action Short Film category.

"Bridges" tells the story of two young people, the best friends – Olivija and Matas, who take a kayak trip in late autumn. Their minds are overcome with tormenting thoughts about their lives that are about to change soon. They both dream of a different, but equally beautiful future. However, when they start speaking about their feelings, both young individuals are forced to return to reality. This is the story of the attempt to find a bridge between people, and learning to live here and now, because you never know what is awaiting behind the next river bend.
