The most recent Lithuanian cinema will be presented on the Baltic Films stand, together with Latvian and Estonian cinema, during one of the largest cinema markets that will take place at the Berlin International Film Festival (10 – 20 February). According to Aušra Duobienė, the representative of Lithuanian subdivision of Baltic Films who participates in this fair every year, this year the presentation of films will be more successful because film producers are more aware of how important it is to advertise their production; thus they provide more information about the products of their studios.

The advertisement for the Baltic Film stand and three Baltic films screened during the market was commissioned from the popular magazine Screen International, which is distributed in Berlinale. Like every year, a catalogue in English about Lithuanian films made in 2004–2005 and still being created was published. The 15th and 17th of February nine Lithuanian films will be presented in the fair of Berlinale to film distributors, experts of international festivals and journalists: full-length feature A Land of Glass (directed by Janina Lapinskaitė), short feature and documentary films – Existence by Giedrė Beinoriūtė, White on Blue by Ramūnas Greičius, New York – My Dog by Vytautas V. Landsbergis and Countdown by Audrius Stonys. Three animations will be shown as well: The Birth of a Woman by Aurika and Algirdas Selenis, Shortcut by Antanas Janauskas and Bugaboo’s Arithmetics by Ilja Bereznickas. In the market, one could also see the most recent documentary Next to You by the director Algimantas Maceina; its premiere in Lithuania will take place after Berlinale.

The presentation of Lithuanian cinema in the market of Berlinale is financed by the Ministry of Culture (40 000 Lt). The organisers of Berlin Festival fair expect around two and a half thousand guests from all over the world.
