A Lithuanian Film in The International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film Competition Programme Lietuviškai »

The International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film, which will take place on October 3–9, has officially presented its main international competition programme last weekend, which will include, among 19 films from 12 countries, the most recent film by Arūnas Matelis, Before Flying Back to the Earth. Next to the Lithuanian film, films of various lengths from , , , , , , , , etc. will compete for the main prizes: Golden Dove and Silver Dove. The festival’s prize fund is over 50 000 euros this year.
The International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film is organised the 48th time this year; it is the largest documentary film festival in Germany and one of the most important documentary film festivals in the world.
The new film by A. Matelis is a sensitive and lyrical essay on children’s hospital in Santariškės,
Vilnius . The film has been created in cooperation of A. Matelis’s group NOMINUM, German film company TAG/TRAUM and the largest German television channel ZDF, German–French television channel ARTE with support of the Discovery Campus, Lithuanian Ministry of Culture and Lithuanian Fund for Culture and Sports.
