The Manager of the Festival Spring of Cinema (Kino pavasaris) Algirdas Ramaška Will Compete for the International Young Screen Entrepreneur of the Year Award in London

The winner of the national competition for the International Young Screen Entrepreneur of the Year Award’08 organised by the British Council is the executive director of the Spring of Cinema festival Algirdas Ramaška. He will represent during the workshop that will take place in October as part of the London Film Festival and will compete for the International Young Screen Entrepreneur of the Year Award’08.

Algirdas Ramaška has experience in organising various film projects: the largest film festival in , Spring of Cinema; Days of Latin American Film; screening of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in ; a programme of the best visual clips in the , Antenna , and others.

For the International Young Screen Entrepreneur of the Year Award competition A. Ramaška has presented a project that is aimed at creating intercultural relationships between filmmakers of and the .

‘Our goal is to encourage cooperation between artists of these countries, to share creativity and experience. We want to present works by young Lithuanian film directors in London and introduce Lithuanians to new British cinema’, says the young film entrepreneur.

A. Ramaška has revealed that this project is also targeted not only to start relationships between the Spring of Cinema and the London Film Festival, but also to encourage co-production projects in filmmaking.

Ten young representatives of film industry from all over the world will participate in the International Young Screen Entrepreneur of the Year Award competition in London . A jury consisting of British film professionals will select the winner. According to the data provided by the British Council, during the process of selecting the winner the jury looks not only at personal achievement in film business but also at possibilities to represent film culture in the candidate’s homeland.

The winner of the International Young Screen Entrepreneur of the Year Award’08 will receive a ₤7500 prize for his or her project.
