Rimas Morkūnas was born in 1959, Vorkuta (Siberia). He studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music, Film and Theatre Department. He starred in around 20 feature films and television films. He has directed performances for children for the National Drama Theatre (The Ugly Duckling, Tumbo Tomba and the Child of God). He worked as the second director for the studio Nominum.
